                                         (Jazzwise Magazine)

Jamie Murray is  a professional drummer, composer, bandleader, and educator based in  London. With a career spanning multiple genres, Jamie has become a  highly sought-after musician in the jazz world and beyond. He has had  the privilege of performing with jazz legends from the Sun Ra Arkestra,  as well as guitar greats like Robben Ford (who played with Miles Davis)  and Guthrie Govan. Jamie’s extensive list of collaborators includes  saxophonist David Binney, bassist Tim Lefebvre, Donny McCaslin (renowned  for his work on David Bowie’s Blackstar album), and keyboard virtuoso Gary Husband.

“A DRUMMER TO WATCH OUT FOR”

                                (Rhythm Drummer Magazine)

Endorsed  by top-tier brands like Gretsch Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Evans Drum  Heads, and Promark Sticks, Jamie’s expertise extends beyond performance.  He hosts a popular monthly jam at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club  and has toured extensively across Europe, America, China, and Brazil,  performing at renowned festivals and events, including the UK Drum Show.

A  versatile and distinctive drummer, Jamie is known for his unique sound  and his ability to adapt to a variety of musical styles. His own  compositions have been featured on several albums, and he has been  recognized in Rhythm Drum Magazine as one of the leading voices in contemporary drumming. Jamie’s contributions have also earned him mentions in the Financial Times and Jazzwise magazine,  while Chris Phillips of Jazz FM has called him “the most disrespectful  drummer in London” – a title he proudly embraces.

In  addition to his drumming career, Jamie enjoys composing on the piano  and is skilled in music production and mixing, always exploring new ways  to push the boundaries of his artistry.

His first album "Disrespectful" featuring bass legend Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Donny McCaslin, Vinnie Colaiuta) and Russian sax master Zhenya Strigalev (Eric Harland, Ambrose Akinmusire, Aaron Parks) is out via "Rainy Days" record label on all music platforms.
